Dorset Theatre Festival | The Dorset Players
The Dorset Playhouse was built in 1929 and is home to theatre and musical productions year-round. The Dorset Theatre Festival’s summer run has been entertaining captive audiences with it’s lively new plays as well as re-energized classics for decades. The festival draws visitors from all over the country with it’s masterful productions and accomplished casts during the summer. The Fall and Winter Season, The Players take the stage and produce local productions with local talent.
Hildene is the historic home of the Lincoln Family. President Lincoln’s son and wife visited here in 1864, and having become enchanted by the beauty of the area, built an estate that is today a marvel of architecture, landscape and scenery in Vermont. Beautiful formal gardens, a 24 room estate, carriage house, observatory and miles of walking trails make this one of the must-see stops in Manchester Vermont.

Southern Vermont Art Center
The Southern Vermont Art Center is the cultural hub of the Manchester, Vermont area. It’s sprawling campus features an art museum, a performance pavillion, an exhibition hall, an educational center, outdoor sculptures, and a charming cafe. Sited on the eastern slope of Mount Equinox—the most dominant natural feature of the area—the Art Center perfectly delivers the best in art and culture in a wonderfully beautiful and natural environment.

Manchester Music Festival
For four decades, the Manchester Music Festival has brought it’s passion and love of classical music to the Northshire Community. Musicians from around the world come to be part of this vibrant ensemble – to peform for the community and educate young and aspiring musicians. Performances and educational opportunities abound year-round, with the highlight a summer concert series held at the Southern Vermont Art Center’s Arkell Pavillion.
